Context
SOUND:ON is a mobile radio broadcasting from wherever we feel like it. No fixed venue, no fixed format: a shop, a tiny house in the woods, a rooftop, a city we've never played in. Each place becomes a temporary studio where music, people and space meet for a few hours. The project now lives as an open archive of sessions and live transmissions, published on its own terminal: hamzaraul.com/soundon.
What I'm building
It started with a 12-hour live broadcast in Brussels with local artists, turning a shop into a continuous listening and transmission environment. Since then it has travelled: a Brazilian edition with the Volatil crew, NECTAR x SOUND:ON sessions, the SOLAR ECLIPSE series, and a sunrise set in a STUGA tiny house. Every session is filmed, recorded and archived — around 30 transmissions to date, all watchable from the SOUND:ON radio page.
Impact
SOUND:ON works as a light cultural tool: it activates spaces through sound and gathers a small ecosystem of artists, visual designers, hosts and friends around each edition. It gives emerging artists a proper stage and a proper record of their set, and it turns non-traditional places into cultural moments — without production overhead, without gatekeepers. The radio page is the home of that archive: live stream when we're on air, full session catalogue when we're not.
